We stayed in this hotel for like 3 days and 2 nights. The place is great as well as the service. the staff are very friendly and kind to us and they gave us pretty delicious food. We just came to London for some reasons and when we get back we will surely stayed in here again. this place is recommended.
I booked this hotel for my girlfriends birthday and we spent one night there. I got a fantastic offer off 0800hotels.co.uk (well worth checking out), which allowed us to stay for just 80 quid including continental breakfast. Obviously, to stay anywhere half decent in london your looking at a figure double this, so although i wanted somewhere respectable, i wasnt expecting a beautiful hotel upon arrival.
However, i was completely wrong! As we walked up the beautiful city street on which the hotel was situated, we were quickly greeted by the concierge of the hotel (he had seen us struggling with bags and walked 50 yards to assist)! He took our bags of us and showed us to reception.
The reception process was speedy and efficient, with everything being prepaid, and refreshingly, there was no deposit taken to cover for any damage we did to the hotel.
We then made our way to our room, up on the third floor it had good views of the great office buildings around this part of London and was in a good location to get the sun in. The room was amazing, a good space, a massive king size bed and pillow menu, and an amazing bathroom with walk in monsoon shower. The TV was a good size and everything was very modern and up to date. It ouzed a chic and boutique feel.
The next morning we headed down to what can only be described as a mahoosive breakfast! it was amazing! Yoghurts, croissants, fruits, breads. Everything you could imagine, and when we checked the prices, it was worth 15 quid, which means we got the room for about 65!
Check out once again ran smoothly, and we were extremely close to the tube station in order to catch our return train home from LKX.
We wanted to stay somewhere in central London that was value for money, and found this brilliant hotel for only £69 per night. This was in December 2008, so we didn't expect any decent hotels so close to Christmas to be so cheap. While this hotel is a little out of the way of main attractions it is close to the Tower of London, and to Tower Bridge and easily accessible by bus and tube.
The rooms were excellent, with brilliant facilities. Good hospitality tray with the usual tea, coffee and biscuits and good quality bottled water. The bathroom in particular was great, with a massive walk-in shower. The beds were comfortable, and there was a choice of pillows which is great for anyone as fussy as me! While we didn't get breakfast included in the room rate there are plenty places nearby, including a Pret-a-Manger on the same street and others such as All Bar One and Wetherspoons close by for better value food than the hotel. The view of Tower Bridge from the local Wehterspoons is special!
Having visited London many times I can say this is the best hotel I have stayed in, and didn't want to leave when our two nights was up!
I recently went to London to go to a Snow Patrol gig and needed somewhere to stay for 3 nights, I searched the internet for hours alongside my partner before we stumbled across this fantastic hotel through a google search. At £99 a night it was definately cheaper than most we had looked at and seemed to tick all the boxes. When we got there we were almost 3 hours too early for check in, but knowing we had travelled all night they rushed our room and whilst we were having breakfast our room was made up!
The room itself is gorgeous, we were in the executive room (good price!) and my partner had ordered a bottle of wine and chocolates on arrival, this is something they offer to everyone who books with them at a small additional charge, its a lovely touch! The room is very stylish, good sizes wardrobes and storage, a lovely frosted glass door seperates off the bathroom. In the bathroom you have both a comfy bath and a walk in shower which could easily fit two people at a time! Speakers are piped into the bathroom and can stick on the music channel on the tv and listen to it whilst having a bath! They go beyond what Ive seen before for "freebies" with a generous sized bottle of shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and moisturiser, then you've got a bar of soap hidden inside a lovely black plastic box for storage, for that extra touch you even get a free rubber duck for the bath!
Coming back out into the bedroom youve got your own coffee making facilities where you are offered coffee, tea or hot chocolate alongside some lovely cookie biscuits. Above it on the next shelf youve got a complimentary show polisher, sewing kit and a bottle opener/cork screw.
Theres also a laptop sized safe to store your laptop or any little bits that you have brought with you. The room comes with complimentary wifi internet which I found a real bonus so I could continue dealing with any work emails during my trip, it meant I was also able to look up any events taking place or places of interest during the day as well as highly rated restaurants.
Each morning you are given a bottle of chilled still water and a bottle of chilled sparkling water with two glasses - which I thought was a nice touch, they also have a fresh delivery of newspapers every morning so you can enjoy the latest news either over breakfast or in your room whilst your getting ready!
Our room was supplied with a king size bed with luxury sheets and pillows and was one of the best nights sleeps I'd had in ages! A 32" tv also hangs on the wall opposite your bed with a variety of sky channels for your entertainment. If you find theres nothing on tv of interest then you can hire out dvds to play on the dvd player in your room. These are charged with a £20 deposit which you will get back on safe return of the film. There is a large selection of dvds to choose from and the list is left in each room.
Lastly the room is selectively designed with a few photographs by the hotels very own photographer, and depending on whether you stay in London or Scotland the photos are there to reflect the place in which you are staying! As a photographer myself I felt this was a great touch and would give anyone who doesnt know the area a really insight into the local tourist attractions.
The hotel offers its own restaurant where you will find a special discounted menu for its guests, the restaurant has a lovely setting with floor to ceiling windows and the food is gorgeous!
The hotel is closely situated to Tower Hill (Tower bridge area) so very close to the centre, and within minutes walking distance to both the tube station and the embankment. A short tube journey will take you to all the famous attractions and back again with minimal fuss. Id suggest you buy a day ticket if your stay includes a weekend (this works out cheaper) or a week ticket if your stay doesnt include weekends. You will find a tube map inside the station and getting around the place is very easy!
I stayed in this hotel a few weeks ago and absolutely loved it. We got a last minute deal for a double room for £120 for a Saturday night. Tower Hill and Aldgate are the closest tube stations to the hotel (about 5 minutes walk).
We found the hotel very easily and check in was quick and efficient. The hotel is situated in a lovely area right beside London Bridge and there are a few restaurants and bars around.
When we checked in we went up to the room straight away and we were very happy with what we found. The rooms are very modern but cosy at the same time. It is obvious that the Apex chain used an excellent interior designer as the hotel looks swish, from the reception, to the bar and up to the rooms. Our room was spacious and had a flat screen tv, a desk, a massive king-size bed accessorised with cushions and a runner. The bathroom had a bath and a separate walk in shower. There was a funky pink rubber duck that you could take home with you, courtesy of the hotel! The toiletries were a blend put together from the hotel and were very luxurious. There was shower gel, shampoo and body lotion (all 250ml). Everything was spotless as well and the bathtub is really deep and I had such a nice relaxing bath!
There was a fridge (which could be stocked if you want) and I found this handy as we stocked it with some water and Lucozade, in preparation for the hangover of the next day!
You could order room service if you want but we opted to have dinner in the bar downstairs. There were 3 of us and the meal came to £81.00 which was excellent value, especially as the meal was delicious. I had mushroom soup for starters and it was unreal that was followed by steak and chips and then for dessert- strawberry cheesecake with basil sorbet. Yes, basil sorbet and it went so well with the cheesecake.
We checked out at 12 noon the following day (after snacking on the choc chip Belgian cookies and tea in the room). Check out was friendly and efficient. I would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay there again.
There are other Apex hotels in Edinburgh and Dundee and plans to open more in London.
