dresse: Newbridge Hill
Bath / BA1 3PT „
This hotel has a huge amount of character and is a great base for visiting Bath.
The hotel is basically a grand old house that was actually built by the Duke of Wellington for one of his mistresses. She was pretty lucky as he built her a very luxurious and well placed home!
It is quite a small hotel and each room has a name and it's own individual but luxurious decoration.
There is a bar downstairs with an honesty box as it is not staffed and you simply come and go as you please helping yourselves to drinks. It is like sitting in your own grand drawing room pouring yourselves drinks whilst relaxing, chatting, reading etc.
There is a good range of freshly cooked food for breakfast and the dining area has a lovely view out on to the house gardens. In good waether breakfast could be eaten on the patio area.
The hotel is within walking distance of the city. It is a reasonable walk though of around 20 minutes and you enter the centre of Bath through the Royal Crescent. Walking is much easier though than trying to drive in and getting a very scarce parking space. The hotel has it's own free parking.
There is a bus service from close to the hotel though if you prefer not to walk.
I'd be really happy to stay here again
