Advantages: Easy access to the town , good value
Disadvantages: may be a little noisy on friday nights
I stayed at this hotel during the weekend for 2 nights. My partner and I got a price of £110 altogether through lastminute.com.
The hotel itself is quite easy to find, it is situated on the N2 road and is clearly visible.
After finding the hotel, we asked staff about the underground parking, you had to follow a sign for deliveries and they opened a gate to let you in to park. The underground parking is so secure, so we had no worries about the car. After we got parked we then went to check in. The staff were very friendly and approachable. The woman gave us 2 keycards to activate the lifts and access our room.
**** PLEASE NOTE ****
The only fault I had with this hotel is that they request 75 euro as a "safety measure" during your stay. (you get the money back when checking out)
As we were on a tight budget we really couldn't afford to give cash so we tried both maestro and visa cards, none of which would work with the machine, so we had to hand over 75 euro of our spending money :-(
Upon arrival of the room, it was better than ever expected. We had the forth floor room with the corner window. It was a nice size and very modern. All usual facillities are there to use, tea making, tv, ice bucket, room service info etc.. I was quite disappointed that the TV only had a few chanels. Other hotels I have been in had a selection of music on the TV and other features. But that is just a personal preference.
We didn't try any food in hotel or the bar, but they both looked very nice and well kept.
There is a bus stop across the road from hotel, it operates every 10mins to city centre.
It costs 1.80 euro each, which is so cheap compared to taxis. It got us there in 10/15 mins.
The bus numbers to catch are 40, 40a and 140.
To get back again is the same price and the same bus numbers operate from the city centre.
On friday nights a live band plays, this can be quite loud through the hotel, but they stop around 12/1am and the hotel is silent otherwise. Some road traffic is heard but this is only a minor issue and you soon get used to it.
I would highly recommend this hotel, it is well priced, very modern and clean, the staff are helpful and you are just a short bus journey from all Dublin has to offer.
check in 2pm
check out 12pm
Summary: Great value, great bus routes right outside
