Disadvantages: hard to find, no pub in walking distance

My family and I recently visited relations in Cornwall and stayed at an excellent B&B near Polperro just outside a village called Lansallos in Lanivet bay. It's called Higher Polgassic and they have a web site www.higherpolgassic.co.uk, i'm sure the telephone number and priceing are on it.

I'm making the effort to recommend this B&B to you as it has the best breakfast in Cornwall in my opinion... OK, that's not the only reason, it also has free brandy in the rooms! The B&B is situated on the top of a hill and has the most wonderful sunset's - well worth being back at base to watch with a G&T, the B&B also has an adjacent holiday cottage which we have booked later in the year! They are in the process of building a miniature railway in the gardens which my son is looking forward to seeing when we return.

Just down the lane we often parked at the ancient Lansallos church (free) and walked down to the local cove which we shared with one other family in the height of summer. The path to the cove is about half a mile and meets the National Trust coastal path near the beach, note - it was a little slippery in places due to a nearby stream. We also hope to do the coastal path on our return as the owners say it is very popular.

The historic fishing village of Polperro is just another half mile away, Looe 5 miles to the east, Fowey to the west across the little car ferry from Polruan. The eden project is a little further, the locals say go after lunch to avoid the queues as everybody rushes to get in early..

And a welcome from me too ... Higher Polgassic sounds delightful. Free brandy can't be bad, can it?!

Hi Andrew, ooh lots of ratings but no comments yet! May I be the first then to say welcome to dooyoo. I hope you have fun on the site. I enjoyed your op, but I would have loved to have read a little bit more about the place. Don't be afraid to go into a bit more detail, we're interested!
