Part of our recent trip to Scotland including attending a wedding held at Balbirnie House which is situated in the village of Markinch near Glenrothes in Fife. Having never been at this particular venue before, we were looking forward to seeing it, as its website www.balbirnie.co.uk presented some wonderful pictures. Balbirnie is a privately owned 416 acre country estate house hotel and dates back to 1777, and according to some of the literature we picked up whilst there, it is supposed to be one of Scotland's finest grade A listed houses.
