... say that you get what you pay for and that is very true here. The experience began with vallet parking, which does cost £10 which is a little cheeky I thought, until you consider parking in Edinburgh! We walked in to a beautiful lobby and booked in. We were shown to our suite and it was all we could do not to scream....the suite was amazing! We had to bathrooms, massive bedroom and dressing room, a massive bathroom....truely delightful and beautifully decorated and furnished. From that moment on it was like a fairy ...more

Premium Review The Balmoral Hotel, The Best I have yet experienced (318 words)
by - written on 14/05/09 (Very useful, 8 readings)
Rating:

I have only ever been here once, it was 3 years ago for my honeymoon. It was the best hotel I have ever stayed in! Okay, okay it is very VERY expensive, which is why I have only been once, I stayed in one of the classic suites and we had dinner included in Hadrian's, the brasserie attached to the hotel. Altogether, the bill came to £350, however I do believe it was worth it. I have never stayed in a 5* hotel before and so the etiquete was all new to me, however, they do say that you get what you pay for and that is very true here. Crowned Review The Rocco Forte Hat-Trick (1606 words)

Rating:

The Balmoral in Edinburgh is the third (and final) of the United Kingdom Rocco Forte Hotels that we have stayed in over the past year. We very much looked forward to seeing what the hotel group has done with an existing landmark hotel, as opposed to the purpose built and modern properties in Manchester and Cardiff. The Balmoral is situated at one end of Princes Street, the most convenient for Waverley Station, steps away from the shops and a short walk across North Bridge to the attractions around the Royal Mile. We booked our room through Leading Hotels of the World, at a rate of £149 for a superior room including breakfast, morning paper and use of the ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Balmoral... max luxury (223 words)
by - written on 28/07/01 (Useful, 106 readings)
Rating:

I have never actually stayed in the Balmoral, but I have been there plenty of times for tea and functions. The tea room is comfortable and the service is impeccable, with delicious teas and cakes etc. Function room facilities are fantastic if you want to do a presentation, seminar or conference of some kind. I have been in one of the rooms before and I must admit the provisions are great. Comfortable beds, TV, imternet access all the mod cons you would hope for or need as well as great service, room service, information, telephone, messages etc. Highly recommended to anyone visiting the city because aside from its great location by ...  Read the complete review

Good value for money as guest house is attractive, clean and has great food, Close to the town centre, Nice and romantic for couples! If you're anything like us, you get lost trying to find it!

Price, central location, clean and comfortable. Raw rashers. Expensive ancilliary charges.

Style. Location. Value. Few (unless you hate minimalism).

Central location, attractive building, good customer services Shower had seen better days - otherwise none
