Newest Review: ... the house was very easy to recognise from the photos. It is a lovely, solid Edwardian three storey house, high up on the cliff and looking out towards the River Esk and Whitby Abbey. In front of the house is a series of terraced gardens, with steep steps up to the front door. We parked in the designated parking area directly outside the house, and were welcomed by Susie and her friendly spaniel. The house is beautifully furnished, with many antiques and solid old furniture. Our room was on the first floor, and extremely spacious. The modern iron double bed was very comfortable, and a very solid folding bed had been set up for my son. ... more

I recently booked this bed and breakfast accommodation from the internet, making a quick decision to break the long journey from Newcastle to the south. I searched the whitbyonlilne website, and sent of a number of on spec forms for one night availability. ~~booking~~ The owner, Susie Sykes, emailed an answer to my enquiry almost immediately. The tone of the email was very friendly, and she told me that she had one room to which she could add a folding bed for my son.
