Advantages: Spacious, well kept, good for catering, barbecue area, great garden, conservatory

Disadvantages: Not near to local shops but you can easily drive into New Quay

Cardigan Cottages is a small family run concern and Andy & Sharon have two cottages: Pine Grove in Llanarth and Ger-y-llethi in Gilfachreda just outside New Quay town.

We stayed recently in Ger-y-llethi and it was really spacious. On the warm evenings we had a barbeque outside and all the furniture and barbecue things are provided.

The kitchen is great with all the utensils, pots and crockery you could need. The table inside is a bit of a squeeze for 6 but the kids often had dinner watching the Sky TV anyway.

The conservatory was great on the one overcast day that we had. It was lovely and warm and we read the papers in there. The garden is great for the kids to play football and frisbee with loads of space to run around.

The bedrooms are really nicely looked after and the place was spotless when we arrived.

Overall, it makes a very economical base to explore the local countryside, towns and pubs so we would really recommend it.

Summary: Good base for families and older people - no stairs! Peaceful and really well looked after.
