Advantages: Cheap, Good Food

Disadvantages: None

Well as the title suggests, this review is about my favourite restaurant - Chapel Home Farm. This is in Kirkcaldy, Fife. It is situated near the Sainsbury's retail park.

There are many reasons why I like this place - Cheap Food, Good Variety, Children-friendly, Good bar and homely restaurant.

The cheap food is probably the main good point. The menu is very varied. With a choice of about 7 starters, 13 main meals, 6 or 7 sides and perhaps 6 desserts. The childrens menu has a good choice at half the main menu price - Turkey Dinosaurs and other novelty meals that should be a hit with the kids. Also the kids get a free bag of jelly sweets included in the price. The food ranges between pasta, steak pie, fish, salads, baguettes, curries and all the other popular dishes.

The bar is well stocked and all alcoholic drinks range between £2-£2.70. Is is expensive, but all restaurants are.

There is a childrens play area. It includes slides, ball pools, climbing frames, soft play mats and other things like that. It is quite big and very colourful and well stocked.

The restaurant is designed in an old way. A roaring fire and antiques aroung the walls.

When we go out for a meal for 2 it is always under £25. This includes

Steak Pie with chips
Lasagne with chips
10 Hot wings with salad and dip
an alcoholic drink
a soft drink

This costs around £18, but we sometimes have more drinks.

This is the best restaurant for me.

It's just a short walk from my house, so I guess it's my 'local'. Agree with most of what leeann's said, but I thought that the service was a bit slow. It's a good place to take the kids because of the indoor play area. I'll be interested to see what effect the recent change of ownership has though.

I've been there too. I don't think the the food is anything special though, but the service was ok.

We went there as well, once. Yes, once. That just about says it. The food was cheap and there was lots of it, but the quality was not great and the service poor.
