****Crowne Plaza Glasgow ****

On a recent trip to Glasgow i decided to stay at the Crowne Plaza because i had heard good things about it and i wanted something near the SECC.

**Directions/getting there**
When i got there i didn't really feel like walking as it was raining so i got a taxi from the train station which cost approximately £6.If you were walking from the station, walk down suchiehall street until you get to the bridge over the motorway and turn left where you will see quite a few hotels including premier inn and marriot.

**The building**
The building is quite nice,as are a few of the others in the area. It is a glass high rise building.

**Reception**
The reception area was smaller than i expected. As you walk in the building the reception desk is not the first one you come to,it is around the corner. This was a little confusing as they did not have any signs telling you what was what.

**The staff**
I didn't have much interaction with staff as i know my way round Glasgow but whenever we passed a member of staff they said hi. I liked how the staff can speak quite a few languages including Czech , English , French , German , Italian , Polish , Portuguese and Spanish. This is one of the reasons i would recommend this hotel to tourists. The staff member at reception checked us in quickly.

**The room**
All the rooms have recently been re decorated and contain a mini-bar,ensuite bathroom, plasma tv and tea/coffee facilities. They are also all non smoking. The beds were comfortable and all had plenty of pillows etc. I particularly liked the shower in this hotel as it was quite powerful and since it was also a bath we didn't have to worry about getting the floor wet.

**Amenities **
This hotel does have a health club which contains an indoor pool, sauna, steam room, whirlpool and exercise equipment. I didn't use any of the machines because they are located right in front of the health club checking in desk and i thought it would be off putting to use them. I did however use the rest of the facilities. The pool area is quite small but i thought this gave it a cosy feel. I think it is open to the public so it might get busy at peak times. Since i was there in the middle of the day this was not a problem.

**Personal services**
These included a cash machine(it is one of those ones that charge),beauty salon, concierge services,Dry Cleaning Pickup/Laundry Foreign Currency Exchange, Gift Shop, Ice Machine, Newsstand, Porter/Bellman and Room Service. The only one i took advantage off was room service and i have to say they were great!!.There was quite a large selection of food and it was delivered quite quickly.Nice and hot!!!The prices werent that cheap but average for room service.

The hotel does have cocktail lounge and restaurant but i didn't use these so cant say if they are good or not.

**Price**
Cheapest price starts from £99 a night up to £249 including breakfast and dinner.

**Other Information**
Check in is from 2pm and check out is 12pm.

There are loads of places to eat nearby as well as plenty of museums and shops.

The address is
Crowne Plaza Hotel
GLASGOW
CONGRESS RD.
GLASGOW, G3 8QT
SCOTLAND

This is the one of the nicest hotels i have stayed in so i would recommend this to everyone.

Summary: well worth staying at
