Advantages: Location, Best of a bad lot in Manchester, Pretty good rooms

Disadvantages: Expensive for leisure traveller, Wouldn't trust chambermaids to stack shelves in Tesco, Cafe can be a black hole for service

There's a lack of polish to the service in the room. My balcony had a take away Pizza box and chip box festering on it. You might get a biscuit to go with your coffee tray (but it might be powdered!). Other colleages didn't get coffee at all. Worst of all, one colleague had a complete stranger wander into her room at 3am, having been given a room card by reception who hadn't checked to make sure the room was free. A similar problem occured when we checked our reservations in advance to be told no-one had heard of them, when we gave our confirmation numbers, however, they miraculously found them. The staff in the cafe are variously very attentive to downright rude.

Unfortunately, the above notwithstanding, this is the best hotel in Manchester! It is fairly grand (the ghastly reception carpet and piped music aside) and the ordered room service is excellecnt, as are the majority of the front of house staff.
