Advantages: Location, Location, Location !!!
Disadvantages: none really - you get what you pay for.
I have stayed in this hotel many times in the last five years, I used to live very close and and whenever I go to visit friends and need to stay overnight, Days Inn is one of my first choices of hotels- here is why.
Location - Days inn is centrally located in London, it is a five minutes walk from London Waterloo main line train station, The London eye and houses of parliament and a 10-15 minute walk to the bright lights of Theatreland and Piccadilly circus and central London. If you don't fancy walking there are bus stops right outside and Lambeth north northern line tube station is at the end of the road.
The hotel is opposite the Imperial War museum, which is well worth a visit.
Checking in at the inn - This is very easy, most of the staff are fluent in several languages and whenever I have stayed they have been most helpful. Payment is taken when you check in, you can also add any extras such as breakfast, in room movies or dry cleaning.
After all the paperwork is filled in, you will be given your room key, all the rooms are on upper levels, there are two lifts and a set of stairs.
The room - The rooms are all kitted out exactly the same, bed, wardrobe, desk, bedside table and extra chair. There are tea and coffee facilities, a hairdryer (whoop whoop) and an iron and ironing board. The bathroom has a power shower and toilet and sink. They provide shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and body lotion.
The Days inn hotel is part of the huge Wyndham Worldwide group, so if you have ever stayed in a Ramada or Travelodge hotel you will know the room layout and set up.
The rooms have always been clean and fresh. I have stayed alone, with friends and with my husband and children and have found the rooms to be spacious and ample for my needs.
The Brekkie - Well I have only ever eaten breakfast twice, you can pay in advance or when you check out. It costs £6.95 for Adults and £3.95 for children, this will get you a full English or a continental breakfast or both if you prefer. It is all self service, there are tea and coffee machines and jugs of Juice available. I wouldn't say it is the best hotel breakfast I have ever had but it is O.K and for the price in a London hotel it is very good value.
The Bar - This is where you need your wallet to be full, a glass of wine costs between £6- £10 and a pint of beer is about £5.00. I tend to visit Brendan O'Grady's Irish pub across the road for a better atmosphere and a better drink.
Hotel overall- This hotel is one of the cheapest central hotels you will find in London, it is clean, safe and perfect for a night or two. It isn't luxury, it doesn't have fancy pools or spas but it doesn't have a high price tag either. A room costs in the region of £60-£80 per night, although you can find deals and offers if you search the internet.
Parking costs £10 a night but I have never brought the car so I can't comment on this facility. If you want to 'do' London on a budget but don't want a hostel in Kings Cross then this is a perfect choice for you.
Summary: Excellent for exploring our Capital city.
