Advantages: pleasant
Disadvantages: none
Hi folks, just got back from another delightful stay at the DeVere Whites Hotel, near Bolton.
This unique hotel is built into Bolton Wanderer's Football Club home ground; the Reebok Stadium giving guests the chance to watch live football through a window in their room whilst lying in bed (should you want to pay extra for this).
This time around I decided to take up the breakfast option which was £7.50 for a help yourself breakfast which included juice , coffee, full english brakfast, cereal, croissants, pastrys, fruit salad, and a selection of preserves and toast very good value as you could eat as much as you like.
The room was slightly smaller this time round but was still up to a high standard and more than comfortable.
A very-modern venue with a difference, this unique meeting and exhibition centre can be configured to host up to 1,500 people. That's one hell of a meeting or training session! Whites is used to the roar of the crowd as it is fully integrated into the Reebok Stadium, home of Bolton Wanderers FC, providing a memorable location for your event. Junction 6 of the M61 is just 500 yards away, a short drive from Manchester. Another plus point is its surrounded by all sorts of various shops. With a vue cinema nearby(about 5 minutes walk) and a bowling and arcade area as well there is loads to do. We chose to go and see Inkheart which was a mediocre but bareable film.
Their helpful team obviously take dealing with such scale in their stride - however big your event is and whatever you need, they will make sure your stay is care free and relaxing. and are always more than happy to help, from pre-planning to the end of the busy day, to ensure you get the perfect bespoke event for your needs. A trip to the health facilities makes a great way to wind down. And later, enjoy a drink in the Pure bar and then a local dish in the excellent Brasserie restaurant. The restaurant has a good wide menu and some great wines to taste. I had the common old gammon and chips but as far as that dish goes it was well above average. we also had a bottle of the wine which you could tell was selected on the qaulity and not just price margain.
When me and my girlfriend went we found it to have great service and excellent rooms , great size and standard. with a tv, some sky channels, iron and board, great working shower, internet connection if needed, hairdryer.
If you pay around £200- £300 you can get a matchday pitch view which is based on 2 sharing with breakfast and dinner in the package. or this offer can be made a 2 night stay for just around £430.
I would definitely recommend staying at this venue, what makes the stay even better is if you get the £19 a night offer, the value for money speaks for itself really!.
Summary: great stay

- 16/02/09 Happy to read again now you have updated. I still think parts of it read as their own marketing blurb, for instance how do you know the staff can cope with a big event. But there is more personal info than the earlier one, which is what I am interested in. Very cheap at £19 a night, is that what you got? I'd be happy with that. |

- 14/02/09 definitely reads like website material...how do you know it hosts 1500 nd the team can take that in their stride. You went with your GF? Was it a conference you attended. What was specifically so good about the service? What was the breakfast like? Was check in and out straightforward |
