Advantages: Set in nice peaceful surroundings, friendly staff

Disadvantages: not the nicest looking building

Gosforth Park is located in the countryside just outside of Newcastle, which makes it a nice peaceful retreat for a weary traveller. I've always found this hotel very comfortable and welcoming. This makes a change as a lot of these type of hotels are full of business men in suits, that's not to say Gosforth park doesn't have it's fair share of them but to say that the hotel has taken into consideration that business men are not their only clients (I even saw David Ginola there once). Therefore their bar is not all dark wood and leather sofa's, in fact it's a conservatory and a lot more realxing.

As for the rooms they have all the standard things, mini-bar, hairdryer, tv, coffee maker but there's also a lovely thick bathrobe in your room and a real iron and ironing board not just a trouser press because other things need ironing too!

The hotel has many other facilities, a beauty salon, pool, tennis courts and lovely grounds if you just fancy a stroll. I recommend this hotel to people wanting a relaxing weekend or people on business in Newcastle who want somewhere relaxing to escape to in the evenings.
