We stayed at the Grand Canal Hotel for 3 nights over the new year weekend 2012.

===Rooms===
Our room was on the 4th floor with a reasonable view over the city. It was a double room with ensuite. The room itself was a good size with a big comfortable double bed and plenty of storage space. I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the room. The ensuite bathroom had a bath with shower. The biggest downside of the hotel was that there wasn't enough hot water so we had a few lukewarm showers.

===Facilities===
I can only comment on what we used. So... Gasworks Bar is joined to the hotel and was decent. We ordered food from there as room service, which was good. Nice chips!

===Location===
From the airport a taxi cost around 25 euro. We were able to walk everywhere in the city. It took about 15 minutes to walk to Grafton Street and a little longer to Temple Bar.

===Staff===
The hotel staff were friendly, helpful and professional - everything you could ask.

===Recommendation and rating===
The room was very good quality for the price (from lastminute.com) and we thought the location was very good. The tepid shower though was a real negative, so would hesitate to recommend it for this reason. I rate Grand Canal Hotel 3 stars.
