Guys Thatched Hamlet is situated 5 miles north of Preston, off the A6 Preston to Lancaster Road, its very easy to find if your driving along the A6 road, you will see signs for it all along, and its a sharp left or right (depending which way your going obviously!) into the hamlet.

Guys thatched Hamlet is a collection of small buildings which house a "tavern" i.e. a lovely little pub, a restaurant, ice cream parlour, and a collection of holiday apartments. All situated in a little hamlet, where the Lancaster Canal runs through allowing you to moore up and go and grab a drink and a bite to eat. But also allows the children to feed the ducks, with the "ducky bag" available when you have eaten in either the pub or restaurant, or of course with your own duck food!!!

The place itself is gorgeous, you feel like you ahve stepped back 100 years into a real little hamlet, as its so away from the hustle and bustle of the two close by cities Preston and Lancaster, its in a nice and relaxing place, which makes it a great place to go on a nice day with the family.

I have been to Guys a lot as I used to live very close by with my family, and still visit regularly now- we go for meals normally- the tavern side for pub lunches and random meals, and the restaurant side for special occasions.

The menu's on the two sides are different, but are both delicious, and reasonably priced, and amazing!! :)

Something I love about Guys is that they do alot of special deals, a lunch time menu of 2 or 3 courses for a set price, which is as far as I remember something like £6.50 for 2 courses and £8 for 3...don't quote me on this, but its not far wrong.

You can also stay at Guys Thatched hamlet in a variety of rooms, but as I have never stayed I cannot really comment, but the prices vary from around £55 per night to £80 per night depending on the kind of room you require (they do an exec room with jacuzzi and aqua TV), there are also special offers like the "champagne weekend" which is two nights from £169, with a bottle of champagne and box of chocolates in the room on arrival, £30 to spend in the restaurant or tavern on a meal, and breakfast for the two mornings your there. Which I am considering for my first anniversary in Septmeber, so will re-write on here when I have been!!!

Guys is a great place to eat and drink, and is wonderful for all the family!!!
