Disadvantages: Unprofessional Staff that really need some training in customer service

We have used the Haycock on numerous occasions for our Christmas Party and have been more than satisfied with the service, food and overall ambience. This is not the case anymore! Christmas 2008 was an absolute disaster.........We asked for vegetables to be served seperately, as in previous years and the new management advised that due to health and safety regulations we could not have them in a bowl. When challenged they said that they would silver serve the vegetables. What happened on the night we received plated meals with vegetables and silver service. The soup was served to the table first before the cold starters. Lipstick on a coffee cup, brandy served in a normal dirty glass, the list is endless and the management and staff attitude before the event and on the night was appalling, including the owner who has not replied or acknowledged any of our complaints. We will not be using this hotel again sadly, as the setting is great but everything else has gone down hill
