Advantages: Good location, Quality restaurant, Late check out
Disadvantages: No good restaurants outside of the hotel in the near vicinity - therefore may need to get the tube.
My husband and I stayed at this hotel in March this year after booking a great deal in the Hilton January sale (£84 per room) found through Money Saving Expert website.
We stayed at the hotel with friends for our usual annual get together. Previously we have stayed at a hotel near Waterloo station but this year wanted something more central.
The hotel is conveniently located right by Bayswater tube station & opposite Hyde Park - perfect for a morning stroll or jog.
The hotel is about 50 minutes from Heathrow airport and about 1.5 miles away from the west end and Royal Albert Hall (taken from their website).
Our lovely room was at the front of the hotel, offering a great view of Hyde Park. Although on the website the room is listed as having a double bed, it was larger than a standard double and I believe that it was a king size.
The room was well laid out and seemed very spacious, however this may be due to the fact we were on the corner, which may be slightly bigger.
The bathroom was had a very large bath tub, which was very comfortable to relax in after a long day wandering around London.
Tea & Coffee making facilities were provided in the room. Check in time was 15:00hrs & check out time was 12:00hrs which my party found extremely useful and meant that we were able to have a leisurely breakfast.
We ate at the restaurant in the evening as we were all rather tired from our long day and we didn't find any restaurants that appealed in the near vicinity. However upon check in the extremely helpful and friendly receptionist gave us vouchers to use in the restaurant. This provided a 3 course meal at a very reasonable rate.
The food in the restaurant was very good. I had the steak, which was cooked perfectly. They were happy to accommodate my dietary requirements. The drinks prices were also very reasonable.
Breakfast was included in the price and is served as a buffet, offering the usual items, whilst tea and coffee is served at the table. The food was good quality and very nice.
We used the express check out service which worked very well.
Overall this hotel I would recommend this hotel, it is conveniently located and offers a very good service. The rooms are maintained to a high standard and the restaurant serves good quality food at reasonable prices. Remember to enquire about vouchers for your evening meal.
Summary: A good hotel, in a good location, that is maintained to a high standard.
