Advantages: Ideal location for concerts and other Wembley events.
Disadvantages: Not quite up to the Hilton's usual standards.
I stopped at the Hilton Wembley Plaza at the beginning of May this year (2008). As I was going to a concert at Wembley arena I wanted a hotel nearby and the Hilton Wembley Plaza is about as close as you can get. Wembley Stadium is just behind the hotel, with the arena just a short walk down the road. Wembley Stadium Station is just 2 minutes walk from the hotel.
I booked a couple of months in advance and paid £84 a night for a Twin room. Check-in was 3pm, but I arrived just before 1pm and checked-in straight away. The staff were friendly and explained about the bar/restaurant and other hotel facilities (times etc).
My room was on the 6th floor and you could see for miles. The room was clean and tidy, but not the standard I expected of Hilton. The bathroom lights weren't very bright when first turned on, but seemed to get brighter the longer they were left on.
The TV had a handful of channels (terrestrial and a couple of Sky channels) although it had poor reception (by today's standards). A kettle with tea, coffee and biscuits were also provided.
I didn't eat there, but did go for a couple of drinks in the bar. The bar is modern and the chairs very comfortable (especially when you've been stood up at a concert for several hours!). The large TV screens were showing a music channel while I was in there, but had earlier been showing an international football match. Usual hotel bar prices.
All in all, the beds were comfortable and the hotel served its purpose. Due to its location (although there is another hotel next door), I would consider staying there again.
Summary: Ideal if needing somewhere to stay while at Wembley.
