Hilton Wembley Plaza (London)
Advantages: great deals to be had, beautiful inside, great food
Disadvantages: not very attractive on the outside, further out than expected
The wembley plaza hotel is a part of the Hilton hotel group. It is
based just outside the new wembley stadium, about a 20 minute tube
ride from central London.
My boyfriend took me away as my birthday present this year and we
planned to go to London, to do some of the touristy bits and maybe see
a show. We booked a plaza room in the wembley plaza hotel via lastminute.com
and got 2 nights bed and breakfast for around '120. I believe the lis
ted price of these rooms is '219 a night so we got a bit of a bargain.
Because we booked a plaza room we got some extra goodies on the day of
arrival, including 2 mini bottles of wine, bottles of water, biscuits
and fruit. We also had use of bathrobes and slippers.
When you first arrive at the hotel you are greeted by a big tower
block with a blue canopy and the hotel name on the building. It's not
the most inspiring of outsides. We parked in the underground car park
(which is free for residents) and made our way to reception.
Reception is totally different to the outside. I felt like I was in a
luxurious hotel. Check in was painless, they stored our bags until the
room was ready whilst we made our way into London.
The hotel facilities include a pool, gym, bar and restaraunt, small
shop and 2 public computers.
Our room itself was lovely. We were on floor 9, the room was large and
clean, with a decent size tv, a nice big comfy clean bed, desk and
chair along with a table and comfy chair forming a seating area.
The ensuite bathroom was a good size, with bath and shower, sink in a
large sideboard. There were plenty of towels, lots of space and the
toiletries were from crabtree and evelyn.
We ate breakfast in the hotel both mornings and it was a nice
experience with lots of choice, friendly service and good coffee.
We also ate in the restaraunt and bar. The night we ate in the
restaraunt they had a carvery and 3 courses was just over '20 a head.
There was a lot of choice, other than the carvery and it was a tasty
Overall we were impressed with the hotel, it was clean, friendly and
we or a good deal. I treated myself to a massage on the Saturday
morning and would highly recommend it!
We were further out of the city than we anticipated and it was a fair
walk to the tube station but not too far. Overall, the outside made me
feel a bit disappointed but the inside more than made up for it.
Summary: A lovely hotel, great staff
