I stayed in the express holiday inn as i needed somewhere to stay because i was going to Alton Towers. The hotel was really nice, the staff are friendly and helpful and the decor is modern and the layout is spacious, as you walk in the hotel the reception is on the left with a bar and sitting area which is also where you eat your complimentary breakfast. The room i stayed in was also spacious with a really comfy double bed, couch which is a pull out bed, Tv, hair dryer, kettle and a very nice modern bathroom. And so it came to pass that I found myself in need of a room to stay in the environs of Alton Towers. The suggestion had been made that we try to book our group in to the Holiday Inn, Stoke on Trent since there were various deals available and, more importantly, rooms! My perception of the Holiday Inn chain was fairly good. Utilitarian 24/7 hotels sprung to mind. A quick check on Lastminute.com confirmed that I could chose between a family room or a double room at a cost of £58 per room per night.
