Holiday Inn in general
Advantages: Great value, lots of choice...... the breakfasts
If there is one hotel chain I trust, its holiday inns.
I at the age of 20 have already been lucky enough to travel to many locations around the world. I've been to china serveral times, america many times, dubai, most of europe and many more locations. And i would say for 80% of my nights spent away I have stayed in holiday inns, and have rarely been dissapointed.
Holiday inns come in several forms, from the basic holiday inn express, to holiday inns, to garden courts, to crowne plazas all the way up to the elite intercontinentals. They are all part of the holiday inn family. And whichever catergory the hotel falls into you know what your going to get.
Express is fairly basic, average rooms, basic facilites, minimul breakfast...... but then again thats what you pay for. I often use these for quick stop overs. They are tidy enough and do the job just fine. The best thing about these is the price. I've paid as little as £20 to stay a night in these. If your lucky they may even have a swimming pool and basic gym.
Your Holidy inns are more upmarket, looking around the 3-4 star range. These are the basis of the holiday inn empire. They're great. Reasonable prices, nice rooms, good facilites as the majority have pools and more. Rooms usually contain comfoy double beds. The breakfasts are usually excellant. With lots on offer, from basic continental to cooked fry ups. They are usually served in a buffet format. Everything is fresh and it never dissapoints. I usually pay £50-80 a night at these.
Now on to my personal favourite. The crowne plazas. These truly are some of the best hotels i've stayed in. Usually 4 or 5 stars they're great. Rooms are a very generous size. King size beds as standard. Great room facilities, cable TV etc. My favourite feature of these is usually the pool. They rarely have a standard pool, its normally innovative well decorated and usually suprising. They always impress me. Now onto the breakfasts for crowne plazas. They are the BEST. Money could'nt buy finer breakfasts. Again in the buffet format and also they have chefs on hand to cook whatever you want. Eggs, pancakes.... you name it. Its more like a 3 course meal than a breakfast. Many a time have i easily spent an hour eating breakfast. There that good. Prices can be steep for crowne plazas sometime £100+. But its well worth it.
I have little experience with the intercontinentals so cant really comment. They are i think all 5 star and are the best of the best.
Holiday inn also provide resort facilities but i've yet to stay in one of these, but i will update as soon as i have.
Have i ever had a bad nights stay??? erm yes once, at the holiday inn niagra falls, where there was construction on the site and rennovation going on, so it was loud and not clean. However i emailed holiday inn about this and they simply refunded me. There great customer service kept me a loyal customer.
So i strongly advise the holiday inn brand and company. They provide a great nights stay no matter what the occasion. You get what you pay for so choose the type of holiday inn you require. They are great value and i truly advise.
Summary: Strongly advise
