Advantages: Comfortable and convenient.

Disadvantages: None other than duff location info!

First time I stayed in this hotel I expected it, not unreasonably, to be very adjacent to Oxford Circus; but it's not; I don't really know why they have chosen to describe it in such a way. If you know Oxford Street, the hotel is located in a quiet Edwardian terrace on Welbeck Street which is behind Debenhams and a five minute walk will take you from the hotel to Oxford Street but you will need to walk another 10 minutes, at least, to reach Oxford Circus. Right now that I've got that bit out of my system, I'll give you some facts; nearest underground station is Bond Street on the Central and Jubilee lines, within 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Oxford Circus underground station on the Bakerloo and Victoria lines is just under 15 minutes walk. So I think you will agree it's pretty well located, in particular for shopping but not too far from all the main theatres and London tourist sightseeing spots.

Most of the rooms are for two people maximum and are of a good standard, comfortable and all have air-conditioning, Internet access, WiFi, playstation games, voicemail and modem points. An excellent "hot and cold buffet style" breakfast is provided and proved to be a very acceptable start to a day of shopping, sightseeing and, later, theatre. A full day needs a full English breakfast to sustain you! You will get all you need in the hotels basement restaurant.

The Holiday Inn Group is running some promotional rates at the moment; I have seen a room rate of £90 or even less offered in their newspaper ads, including breakfast which is a bargain; especially if you are like me you eat enough for four people. I know, I'm a pig but I enjoy my cooked breakfast when staying in a nice hotel like this! Their website claims to offer unbeatable rates but I always check first. Teletext often has the best rates.

Summary: 4-star comfort and service in a good location
