Advantages: Good rates for 4-star standard hotel

Disadvantages: None in my opinion

The Holiday Inn Regents Park is located on Carburton Street and is an easy 10-15 min walk to Oxford Circus. There are three tube stations within a 5-10min walking distance; these being Great Portland Street, Regents Park and Warren Street and lots of accessible bus routes in the vicinity. As a Central London base for all your shopping, sightseeing, theatre-going and nightlife it is ideal but nestles in a quiet little street away from traffic and crowds. Reportedly the hotel is close to Wembley and is an ideal base for sports fans. It is certainly within walking distance from London's Theatres, Oxford Street, Regents Park and London Zoo.

Surely deserving of its four-star rating in terms of the level of comfort and service provided, this hotel has decently sized rooms of a standard that you would expect. On arrival by car or taxi you will find access to the hotel via a proper canopied driveway right up to the main lobby doors. The lobby/reception area is not very large there being the main check-in desk, the concierge desk, some plush seating and is serviced by four lifts to take you swiftly to your room. Once your settled in you will find the main lounge area and restaurant are on the first floor where an excellent buffet breakfast is served every morning.

The restaurant has plenty of space and the number of tables available meant no long wait to be seated for breakfast on any morning we were able to request a window table without any problem although the hotel was pretty busy and we came down at a peak time. The layout of the restaurant is such that you are not sitting in a vast impersonal open space, in fact, the room has a nice cozy friendly atmosphere. Breakfast selection of both hot and cold items is really excellent and we enjoyed a hearty meal every morning before setting out for a full day of sightseeing and theatre.

High Speed Internet Access is available in all the spacious 332 air-conditioned bedrooms; keep in touch with news, friends or business, whatever. They claim to be a child friendly hotel who offers kids stay and eat free policy. Some great offers are available at the present time, I spotted, in the Daily Telegraph, one for a room rate of £75 including breakfast; this is a terrific deal for a hotel of this standard in Central London. Book it, you will not be disappointed!

Summary: Comfort and conventience
