I recently started a new job and on my second day I was to be whisked off to meetings in exciting overseas destinations. Well Guernsey anyway. An overnight stay was involved but I did not get a say in the hotel as it was booked before I joined the company. I was told that the hotel they usually use, the really nice one that my colleague was booked into, had no room for me and even the second hotel they sometimes use had no rooms at the inn either.
