Advantages: Everything. Price. Huge rooms. Get to choice exactly what you want. Amazing breakfast.
Last year for mine and my boyfriends first Anniversary we went to this hotel. We had come across the website for this hotel some months before. The rooms looked all so amazing, it was good how the website showed you pictures of every room and had prices for each of them. There was loads of information about each room. They had shown all the exact sizes and shapes of the rooms and bathrooms with the rooms. The room we decided to stay in was £125 per night with free breakfast. We both fell in love with it as soon as we saw the picture. We then put a £30 deposit on the room for the night we wanted. You get the deposit back if you cancel the room before three nights before your due to stay there. I then printed off the receipt and details and put them away until closer the time.
The day we went, we left really early in the morning. The journey was about 4 hours away from where we live because its in Wales. Around 30-40 minutes away from Swansea city Centre. The hotel rang me on the day around 3pm asking if we wanted any special arrangements. We got there at about 4pm because we went to Swansea first to do some shopping and look around. We were allowed to check in anytime after 1pm that day. When we first got to the hotel we drove up to the car park which was around the back of the hotel. We then went down some stone stairs into a posh outside area with nice tables and chairs. It was lovely and peaceful there. We walked into the reception with our suitcase and the lady took us to our room and gave us a key card.
When we walked into the room we was completely blown away. It was so much more amazing than the picture. I was extremely pleased. We both kept saying to each other how great it was. The room was so much bigger than we was expecting. The picture made it look smaller. It had a dressing table and a chair, a sofa by the window, a telephone, two side tables and lamps, a wardrobe with two robes, a television and dvd player (not that we used them) and best of all! A huge bed! Which was so comfy. The bathroom was so amazing it took my breath away. It was like a show room! It was so beautiful, it had black shiny tiles on the walls and floor. It was honestly my dream bathroom. It had a double bath and a separate double shower cubicle. I fell so deeply in love with the bath! The room also came with a safe and instructions on how to use it. It was useful because we used it to put the money in that we had brought for the weekend. We was going out to dinner and didn't want to take it all out with us. In the room there was a tray with the usual on it, kettle, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, cups and more. We didn't use them though. There was a welcome book thing which had loads of information in it. Such as phone numbers and a menu. You could have your breakfast brought to your room if you requested. It had loads of alcoholic drinks you could have bought and have brought to your room. The room was light blue which was lovely and bright and made the room feel more homely. We had a great nights sleep. They had Egyptian cotton sheets and covers and it felt amazing.
In the morning I felt fully refreshed. The check out time was around 11am. Breakfast was served 8am till 10.30am. I was sad at the thought of leaving. I really loved that room. We went down to breakfast around 9ish. It was a huge restaurant room. There was a huge buffet of toast, fruit, cereal and drinks. We found a table, there was loads to choose from. All the staff were wearing logoed uniform. A waiter came over and handed us a menu each. We both had an English breakfast. We had a fried egg, because we had a choice of scrambled, fried or poached. I didn't want tomato's or mushrooms with mine. We also had a pot of tea to share. As we were there more and more people were coming in. We didn't have to wait long for our food, it was quite quick. About 15 minutes. We had toast in the time we was waiting. Once our food had arrived, we could both tell how good the quality was. The sausage was the best I've ever tasted. The portion wasn't very big but the quality and taste made up for that. There was a huge buffet though so you could get more if food if you were still hungry. I definitely wont be forgetting that breakfast!
After breakfast we went back up to our room to pack our stuff. We then went down to reception to check out, we then paid by card. She printed off a receipt and off we went. I was really happy with the whole experience. I loved the entire weekend. I would love to go there again this year for our second Anniversary. I did love that room but I think I would try out another. I definitely recommend this hotel! Its well worth the price!!
The hotel has a lot more rooms ranging in price from £65 to £200. All the rooms come with free breakfast. Our room was called 'Laugharne'. You can see all the rooms and prices on thecawdor.com. The hotel also does dinner in the evenings. This is a great hotel. Go and see for yourself! 10 out of 10!
Summary: Would love to go again!
