We recently had to attend a wedding in Bristol where I was chosen to be best man. My friend who was getting married is an architect in Bath and lives in Bristol and the wedding was to be just outside of the main city centre. We were given a list of hotels that we could choose from and which came recommended, my girlfriend Sarah had already stayed in Bristol for the hen weekend and had chosen The Future Inn - so we went with the same for the wedding weekend.
Bristol is a really nice, pristine city that has seen a lot of money pumped into it over the past few years, in particular a large new shopping centre in Cabot Circus. The Future Inn is situated just behind the main shopping centre of Cabot Circus and is joined via a walkway which connects the hotel to the main metropolis. Adjacent to the hotel is a large multi storey car park where we left our car for the entire weekend.
The hotel has only really just been built, so all of the rooms are modern and fresh. Our double room had a large floor space with drawing table, two double beds and a large hanging cupboard. The beds were extremely soft and very comfortable indeed - something that I miss with the terrible mattress we have here at home!. The room also had a flat screen television with an assortment of pay to view movie channels - none of which we ordered.
The bathroom was again large with a clever mirror that never steamed up after having a shower - ingenious! The bathroom was equipped with large fluffy towels and an assortment of shower gels and soaps. The who room was furnished in a modern style and was extremely clean.
The hotel also had a large underground restaurant, but as breakfast was not included, we did not partake in any of that. It looked quite expensive really - I think £10 was the going rate for breakfast, but there were numerous occasions when we were waiting for the girls to get themselves organised where we could have a few drinks in the downstairs bar which was open to everyone. The only annoying thing about this was the Carpenters CD which was on a continuous loop all day everyday
The rooms cost us a very reasonable £60 per night which we ordered via the Future Inns website. The hotel was very clean and modern making a very enjoyable weekend in relative comfort. The main selling point in the central location to Cabot Circus where there are plenty of shops and restaurants to make your stay both fun and expensive!
