In fact, you can't get closer to the beach unless you sleep in the sand dunes. This past weekend we toured East Sussex. Two adults, a 16 year old, a 3 year old and a one year old. We initially looked at Rye, but could find little or nothing for the right price at the last minute. I found the Blue Dolphin Motel (YES a motel in England - strange, more of a North American thing, and not often seen here) on the internet. Finding adequate accommodation in Rye at the right price was not going to be easy at the last minute.
