The stairs were very narrow and had a sharp 180-degree turn on them. I had no problem with the stairs but can envision problems for those less mobile than myself. The room was tiny. I had to shuffle along the side of the bed to get to the miniscule en-suite bathroom that was little more than a toilet and a sink and a shower curtain. All mushed together. I have only been to Inverness once, and although I loved the town, I did not enjoy my stay in my hotel. I stayed in the Winston Guesthouse, which is in an absolutely fabulous location. It is right near the centre of town and is only just across the river from the castle. The front of the guesthouse is on the riverside itself. Despite the excellent location, I feel that I paid an unfair price. I paid £50 for one night in a single room with breakfast. My single room was tiny. The Craigmonie hotel in Inverness is good. Its a tradditional Scottish hotel and very freindly. They seem to have spent quite a bit of money on it over the last couple of years. The rooms and the leisure centre all have been done up in the last year. I go up to Inverness on business usually once a month and in the last two years i have stayed in various hotels but this is by far the best value for money. I was up about 4 weeks ago and because its out of the tourist season my room was about 60% cheaper than the propper rate.
