The newcastle area is a popular place to spend a weekend or a short break away from home. That is the reason why the city is full of hostels. If you arrive by train, the first thing that you will see after leaving the station is a huge hotel across the road, and along the same road, is a huge old fashoned hotel, where you can book your stay by the night, instead of a weekly package.

I find that the hotels in Newcastle are using up to great standard, and there are always room in the city, without a doubt. There are plenty of website that you can look on to find out which are the better hotels in this city. Over the water on the other side on the river, there is a Hilton Hotel, which on on the top half of the price scale, but being away from the the busy city can be an advantage, which is really what you are paying for. In addition to this, there are also hotels that are low budget, but I would advise against these, as they are low budget for a reason. As far as hotels go, Newcastle are one of the better cities for them.
