Advantages: Loveley structure, Historic

Disadvantages: Pricy, Haunted

The red Lion Hotel was completed one year before the completion of Salisbury Cathedrel. The courtyard has red Vaginian Ivy which is well over 500 years old. The same family, The Maidments have owned it I believe since the Edwardian or Victorian period. Mrs Maidment so I am told used to prick her finger and bleed spots of blood into the ivy.

There is an old clock in the reception which comes from the time of the Spanish Armarda (so I am told), and a loveley resturant and rooms. There is also a ghost. The Salisbury to London Mail coach used to stop at the Red Lion. It was known as the fastest of its time. It was seen many times rolling into the courtyard.

The ghost is of a cavalair which was witnessed by a guest going into a fireplace where a door once used to be.

There is a website, but I can't remember what is it.

An Update:

Thy have a resturant which had a wide menue of the usuel things. members of the public not staying at the hotel can use the resturant. There is the usuel teas and the place on the whole is quiet and pleasant.

Hiya topp, I enjoyed your op as far as it went but would have liked to know more about what the hotel is like to stay/eat/drink in. If you update, let me know :o)
