Ibis (Birmingham) Hotel National

Newest Review: ... centre attractions. If you are arriving by bus or train it is about a 10 minute walk from most of the city centre bus stops and New Street train station. If you are arriving by car from the M6 motorway you will need to leave at J6 and follow signs to the A38(M) Aston Expressway, follow this road through 2 tunnels and as you leave the 2nd tunnel you need to follow the road to the left and turn left on the roundabout, at the traffic lights you need to turn left again and then take the 2nd right and simply follow the road round the one way system and the hotel will be in front of you as you come around a long bend in the road. Ibis Birmingham. I used the Ibis hotel in Birmingham last year when my friend got extremely drunk after a relationship break up while chatting to me on msn, at the time I didn't realise how drunk she was so when she told me to book a hotel and we would have a night out the following evening to cheer her up I was happy to oblige as usually as I mentioned in my Etap review it would work out cheaper than getting taxi's. Sorry you were expecting an IBIS review. I have decided to delete my review and post it elsewhere. I think it will be a while before I review at dooyoo again - I will post where I am a little more appreciated. Sorry for any annoyance. Chris ...  Read the complete review

Attending a conference in Birmingham, and with the rail timetable on the web giving me no hope of setting off from Norwich the same morning (suggesting instead that I get the last train the night before and spend 7 hours on Ely station...), I had to seek out something central and cheap. The Ibis fits the bill perfectly. It's close to New Street station (2 minutes by taxi, if that), and sits in the Chinese Quarter surrounded by eating places galore (mostly Chinese - ha :), a cinema and the Arcadian shopping complex. All rooms are £42 per night, and breakfast is a bargain at £4. The ground floor has an odd, vaguely unwelcoming layout - reception is off to one ...  Read the complete review
