Advantages: Cheap, central, stag friendly

Disadvantages: none

I stayed at the Jury's Inn Nottingham recently while on a friend's stag do. The best man booked everything through a company called chili sauce that organises hen and stag weekends. The hotel was all part of the package. It is what I would describe as stag and hen friendly! Chili Sauce must send a lot of hens and stags here, as there were at least 5 others there when we were.

Obviously therefore because of that, this hotel is probably not where you want to take your beloved to for a romantic break or your family for a quiet relaxing weekend. That is not to say that the hens and stags had the run of the palce or were running around going crazy, but even people walking to their rooms late at night talking would be loud enough.

The hotel itself was very clean and looked as if it was not open all that long. Very modern and clean furnishings. The bedrooms were what you would expect, two beds, tv, usual tea coffee facilities, good sized bathroom and a great powerful shower that certainly helped to wake me up in the mornings!

I have to say that the breakfast was excellent and a lot better than what I expected. There was a full buffet of all the usual cooked breakfast fare - sausages, eggs, bacon, mushrooms etc, as well as cereal, tea, coffee, juice.

IThe hotel is very handy to the train station, literally a 5 minute walk (if that). This was good as we went to Derby on Saturday. The tram station is beside the train station and this brings you into the centre of Nottingham in no time.

One small bad point was that there was no late residents bar, so when the bar closed that was it for the night!

As I said above we got it through Chili sauce, so in terms of price, I think it worked out at maybe £40 per person per night for a twin room. I am sure it is more expensive if booking directly or yourself on the webiste.

I would definitely recommend this hotel for stag or hen parties or for a group of mates going away together.

Summary: Good hotel
