Whilst I was lucky enough to stay at the Low Wood Hotel for free, if you're paying, I would strongly advise refusing a night in room 4. I was lucky enough to spend a weekend at the Low Wood Hotel in Windermere as part of a conference funded by a pharmaceutical company. It is part of the English Lakes Hotels chain. Despite not having the opportunity during my stay to explore the Lake District, the setting of the Low Wood Hotel makes it an ideal base from which to investigate the sights of the Lake District. The hotel is easy to find and is perched within metres of the banks of Lake Windermere which provides some beautiful scenic views all year round.
