I used to live in Harpenden, near Luton, and of course this area, Luton in particular, is not noted for it's holiday spots. However, Luton can boast to have one of the best hotels in the country. I was there a few years ago on a business trip, and the Hotel I'm referring to is Luton Hoo.
This is is a luxury five-star hotel with an 18 hole golf course, a spa and over 1,000 acres of parkland and gardens created by the famous landscape designer Capability Brown.
The hotel was opened after several years of painstaking restoration by it's owners, Elite Hotels following its acquisition.
Mature trees grace the parkland including several sweet chestnut trees that are more than 300 years old and the River Lea snakes through the grounds, creating two lakes covering 50 acres.
Whatever the occasion, this wonderful Mansion offers a whole host of delights for guests, ranging from dinner in the original state dining room, through to strolling in the terraced gardens or boating or fishing on the lake.
It is located is just ten minutes' drive from Luton Airport. Road and rail links are also excellent, and it is just three miles from junction 10 of the M1 and five minutes from Luton Parkway station where there's a frequent 30-minute service into the city of London.

This combination of luxurious tranquility and it's accessibility makes Luton Hoo a great destination for leisure breaks and even business functions.
