We stayed at The Lynwood Hotel last weekend and found it to be a very pleasant stay, the staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms were immaculate. We stayed in the premier room which was a gorgeous room with courtesy tray and bathrobes. The breakfasts were fabulous and cooked to order. We have stayed at this hotel before and have recommended it to our friends. I notice that the Hotel has won an award since our last visit. Victorian charm at its best.

Lynwood Hotel Southport - Beware single supplements. We stayed for a one night I rang to alter our booking arrangements, requesting a single room instead of a twin, along with two other rooms. I was not informed at the time that there would be a single supplement, but was told that my son would be put in a single. My son ws put in a double room and when I queried this was told they have no singles but would be charged £15.00 for a single supplement. I should have been informed of this when I rang. Stayed at the Lynwood Hotel which is situated close to lord Street and the Promenade. The Hotel is a four star rated establishment and we found the rooms and bathrooms to be very clean. The presentation was good and the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was really good, with a great selection to choose from. We had a drink in the bar on the last night and there was a great selection of beers and whiskies. We have booked to stay at the Lynwood again on our next visit to ...  Read the complete review

Express Review on Lynwood Hotel (Southport)

Stopped at the lynwood hotel at southport for the 8th and 9th of September 2006. Generally the hotel was not bad. Didnt actually get a warm welcome when arriving, remember 1st impressions count. The room was very small. The bathroom door squeaked every time it was used, this must have been noticed by the owner, but ignored. Bathroom cleanliness poor, toilet seat chipped. 100% certain not to stop again. Not good value.

If you are a regular reader you will know that I am on a search to find decent accommodation in Southport. Why Southport you may ask? Because my in-laws live there. Why can't you stay with them then? Because they live in a reasonably small apartment and, although they do have a sofa-bed in the lounge, it is a bit of an inconvenience for them, hence the need for a room within reasonable distance. Reasonable distance in this case means (for those of you who know Southport) within easy walking distance of the roundabout at the north end of Lord Street, by the Fire Station and the Magistrate's Court. This means that my search is effectively limited to that ...  Read the complete review
