In June my boyfriend went over to Ardara in Ireland for a family birthday party. The party its self was held at a function room at the Nesbitt Arms Hotel but we also went to the hotel for a evening meal and for a few drinks.

From the outside it looks nice and traditional and the inside does not disappoint. The decor is all light wood but still emits warmth. It has a classic feel to it so I don't think that it will ever date.

The meal I ate there was very enjoyable , Tandoori and sweet chilli chicken with mushroom rice. The chicken was tender and the taste of the actual sauce was just right. For some it would probably not me strong enough but for my delicate tastebuds it was just the right amount of spiciness. The rice was cooked to perfection and not sticky, the only thing was it contained one mushroom, but as the food really was that good I will not let that detract.

My boyfriend had a steak with chips and all the trimmings. The chips were absolutely delicious, and I kept helping myself to them, much to my boyfriends annoyance.

The staff were very friendly and polite and seemed like they really wanted to know how your meal was and that you were enjoying yourself

It was slightly pricey but we felt it was money well spent, and not just because we'd been enjoying the Guinness!

I just checked on their website for the prices as I cannot remember how much it was exactly and it does not have any information, just a sample menu.

I didn't personally see any of the rooms that you could stay in, but people I spoke to that were staying there only had good words to say.

I really cannot say too much about the function room as it was just like every other function room. One of the plus points was the bar area was massive, so there wasn't too much pushing and shoving.

All in all, the time we spent there was very happy and enjoyable.
