Hotels in Armagh (county) in general:
... City Hotel is a large hotel and leisure centre situated in the historic city of Armagh in Northern Ireland. Sitting on the edge of the Palace demense and beside a main road, the hotel is ideally sitauted for visiting the city. A slightly odd looking boxy looking building, it was supposedly styled to fit in with the georgian buildings of the city, mainly it looks odd as it has a flat roof, originally it was sup... Dukes Hotel ... is perhaps less of a hotel review than a lament for a grand old Belfast building. I have not stayed in Dukes but have spent some evenings there and it is a pleasant but not remarkable place. My point is that Dukes was a very imposing Victorian building in a great location, a red brick, monumental, vaguely French edifice. However, my problem is that the place has been allowed to be utterly vandalised within the last few years and by its owners not nameless hooligans. When first developed years ago as a hotel Dukes was quite well regarded. It looked handsome, had a nice bar and was near everything in the University area. It changed hands a few times and someone in t... Read the full review: Destroyed Dukes by byblox |

The Causeway Hotel ... wife and I have been to the Causeway Hotel at the giants Causeway on a number of occasions. A few years ago my wife held my fiftieth birthday party there, in all I think there were about twenty two people that attended, from some of my best friends to my granddaughter. The place itself, the rooms, the atmosphere and the food is somewhat magical, in fact my wife Lynda calls it "heaven on earth". Back in July two thousand and six my wife and I spent the weekend in the causeway hotel for our thirtieth wedding anniversary. My two daughters and my brother and sister in-law paid for us to spend the weekend their. When we arrived and got to our room there was a bo... Read the full review: must try by alan bennett |

The Londonderry Arms Hotel (Antrim) ... a recent visit to Northern Ireland, finely documented in a previous post, I was lucky enough to be shown round by someone born and bred in Larne. It was on her suggestion that we paid a visit to the Londonderry Arms, a 3 star hotel with two restaurants in the charming and quaint harbour village of Carnlough. Carnlough is about 15 minutes drive north of Larne along the very picturesque coastal road otherwise known as the A8. History The Londonderry Arms has a rich and interesting history proudly available in leaflets amongst a wide selection of magazines free for perusal. The Londonderry Arms Hotel was built in 1848 as a coaching inn by Frances Anne Tempest, Marchiones... Read the full review: If its Good enough for Winnie, Its good enough for me by funzo |
