Advantages: Beautiful hotel rooms, Marvellous dinner and restaurant service

Disadvantages: No credit card = common criminal, Would never visit this hotel again

I stayed at the hotel for Valentine's weekend and took my boyfriend for a treat. We had a lovely deluxe room and a fantastic meal in Indigo where the service was faultless. It all went horribly wrong the morning after though. We were paying by cash and paid for the room in full in advance plus £100 for extras on arrival. Anyway, we celebrated during the evening with Champagne and ran up a fair bill so we were rudely awakened by a call from concierge at 09.30 saying we couldn't have our breakfast in the room as we requested as we were over our 'credit limit'. They would however be more than happy to send someone up to the room to collect a credit card or cash. I told them this was not an option as my boyfriend had yet to visit the cash point (for those who may not be aware you can only withdraw £300 cash from an ATM per day) but not to worry as we would be down by 12 noon (our checkout time) to settle the bill. I was, however, a little irritated by the call and got my boyfriend to get up there and then and get the money from the ATM not 2 blocks away. Imagine my horror when he came back to the room saying that 3 doormen/porters had followed him out of the hotel and followed him until they saw him at the ATM. Please bear in mind that I was still in the room with all our luggage. Where on earth did they think he was going to go? We were both highly distressed and felt harshly and wrongly judged. Incidentally, earlier during our stay I had given the concierge £30 in cash and they had rung it up as £40 cash so I pointed out the error to them - obviously highly dishonest aren't I. My advice would be that if you don't have a credit card don't bother going to this hotel. I only hope that one day they take a credit card imprint only to find out once the people have left the hotel that the card is stolen or has no credit left on it!

Hi and a friendly welcome! Read around a bit, so that you get the hang of dooyoo. - It would heighten the readability of your op enormously if you left two lines free between the paragraphs, your future readers would be grateful. Cheers, Malu
