We found this guesthouse quite by accident, after driving around for hours trying to find somewhere to stay that a) was not too expensive and b) had en-suite facilities. Just as we were about to give up and set up camp in the back of the car (not really a viable option!!), we spotted Orchard Lodge. Situated on the A36 as we approached Bath, on the right hand side of the road, it appeared like a mirage in front of our weary eyes. And boy were we glad to see it! Even better – the sign said ‘Vacancies’! Orchard Lodge, built in 1984, has 15 bedrooms – the usual choice of single and double/twin enhanced by the larger family rooms for up to 4 ...
