Advantages: Good location, nice rooms
Disadvantages: Getting pricier
Not a deluxe hotel perhaps, but very good quality and value all the same. We always tend to stay in Travel Inn's. They are a good standard of accomodation - ensuite with bath and shower, tv, tea / coffee facilites, nicely done rooms. The standard price is 40 pounds, but "metro" ones in cities are now 46 pounds. Breakfast is on top but as a tip, we find the continental breakfast more than enough - you get toast / croissant, tea / coffee, plus can help yourself to cereal, grapefruit segments, yoghurts, fruit, and fruit juice. They are attached to a resteraunt and pub in the Whitbread chain. Most commonly either Brewers Fayre or Beefeater, but also TFI Fridays and others. So an evening meal is never far away. There is always ample parking, and the locations tend to be convenient on the whole. There are even some on motorway service areas now. We have just had a long weekend in Nottingham and stayed at the city centre Travel Inn, attached to the Boathouse Beefeater Resteraunt. The location we thought was very good. It is on the castle marina park, there is a Holiday Inn there as well, plus Pizza Hut, Sainsburys etc. But it is a very pleasant stroll from there along the canal towpath into the stroll, takes about ten / fifteen minutes. So no need to worry about taking the car in. We would definately stay there again.
