      Very helpful

If there is a hotel you want to avoid when you go to London, this "Palace" is it...

This hotel is a total dump and should be closed down as a health hazard. I stayed here and was bitten dozens of times by bedbugs, which ruined my trip to London. The hotel staff refused to ever let me speak with a manager and didn't apologize even though I was practically disfigured for 2-3 weeks on arms, back, legs, hands and feet. I even had two bites on my face! Besides this, the rooms were dirty, the towels stunk, the space was claustrophobic, the staff talked with friends outside the window all night keeping us up, we were forced to wait extra time to check in, and the breakfast room was like an overpacked madhouse. I have contacted the health authorities and recommend you think seriously before staying at this awful pit with highly deceiving photographs (for example, the supposedly charming terrace is dirty and filled with rubbish and ashtrays overflowing with cigarette butts that nobody bothered to clean in days, all by some sort of smoke outlet that spews nasty fumes all over half the people sitting by the park).

I have read some very suspicious reviews on travel websites that make this hotel sound like some sort of wonder hotel in paradise. I have no idea how anyone could get that impression and I have a feeling the real reviews are the ones that mention the smelly linen, the torn curtains, the stained carpet and the general atmosphere of ickiness. I also forgot to mention that I got trapped in the elevator three times during my 4-day stay. I have read many reviews by people who complain that the fire alarm goes off repeatedly during the night, as well.
