Advantages: Close to amenities, lovely rooms
Disadvantages: parking is charged, however close by and subsidised by the hotel
We booked into this hotel in order for me to attend a university interview, and we weren't expecting much of it if we're honest.
On arrival the receptionist was friendly and helpful, and sent us on our way to our rooms.
The rooms were spacious and had everything you could need, with nice flatscreen TVs with freeview. Our only complaint is that one of the rooms was quite cold, and we couldnt swap the air con off and onto heating, and after assuring us somebody would come from reception after an hour they never did, so we gave up and swapped as my dad doesn't mind cooler rooms.
We headed down to the bar for dinner, and again I was expecting 'average' food. I ordered the ribs and they were so tender it was unbelievable! Both of us were very impressed both with the food and the quality of the sevice.
The area was lovely with plenty of bars, restuarants and 'proper' liverpool history nearby, and our windows had a nice view of 'the wheel of excellence' which is quite impressive at night.
Would definitely recommen to anyone without hesitation (we'll be staying there again when we go to look at accomodation for my degree!)
Summary: luxurious hotel - excellent stay!
