Advantages: It is a lovely hotel with everything you need provided and more
Disadvantages: None really
I recently stayed in a Premier Inn on my way back from Scotland for one night and I have to say, I was impressed. I stayed in the Premier Inn in Motherwell, Glasgow and it was the best hotel room I've stayed in, and relatively cheap too. It cost us £54 for one night with 2 adults and a child staying in one room. I also stayed in a Travel Lodge a week before on my way up to Scotland, but I have to say it was positively dire compared to the Premier Inn.
The hotel was quite easy to find and was signposted, but if you do have trouble finding it, no fear! Premier text you directions to your hotel!
We arrive quite late at the Inn but there was still someone at reception and we were told that there would be someone there 24/7 is we needed anything. The room was easy to find but the girl was very helpful and gave the directions anyway.
When we got to the room it was very nice. The beds were made, There was tea and coffee and fresh glasses. The TV was flat screen with Free-view, and was mounted on a rotating post on the counter which meant it could be adjusted to be seen from all angles. All the lights worked and the beds were comfortable.
Also in the room, which was not in the Travel Lodge and I was pleasantly surprised to see, was a hairdryer, adjustable air conditioning and a fan because it was summer. I'm not entirely sure why you would need air conditioning *and* a fan, but it sure was a nice touch.
In the bathroom there was plenty of toilet roll, and in the shower the shower gel and shampoo were provided! It was a compined shower gel and shampoo, but still it was absolutely lovely! I just wish I'd remembered the brand so I could have bought some myself!
There were also plenty of spare pillows in the room, allowing for two each, which was a problem in the last hotel as there were only two pillows supplied despite the fact that there were three people in the room. Luckily I had brought a travel pillow with me, so I used that!
Unfortunately I had a restless night and kept waking up, but I can assure you that this had nothing to with the room, I just have trouble sleeping sometimes, then again, sometimes I sleep like a baby!
However, the fact that I was awake for much of the night does mean that I can tell you that there were no noises likely to actually wake you up, either from inside the hotel or outside.
The room was spotlessly clean when we arrived too, and there was no mouldy patches or anything like that, which you often see in these places.
Breakfast was offered and at a good price, however we didn't take up theoption, as we wanted to be o our way, however I did look at the menu, knowing that I would be writing this review. There were lots of options for breakfast, ranging from cereal to pancake to a full english. I believe most Premier Inns are situated next to a proper resturant, like Table Table meaning that all these options are abailiable, unlike other over-night hotels, which can often just be next to a fast food place, not all that great for a nutritious breakfast!
Overall, the stay was lovely and would definately consider using Premier Inn again from this experience. It may have been specific to this particular hotel, but I think it is probably the general standard judging by their adverts.
When we left we were greeted by someone at the desk at reception and thanks for staying with them, which was nicer than just walking out and having to leave the keys at an empty desk. The staff were helpful and added that extra little bit of friendlyness to our stay!
Summary: Good place for an overnight stay
