Advantages: Good value, Decent rooms, Good location
Disadvantages: Noisy at night
The only hotel within walking distance for Southampton Airport so if you have that early flight its wonderful! Otherwise thats about as good as it gets. Sandwiched in between two busy roads and a motorway its not an inspring view, directly opposite the front of the building is Royal Mail's Southampton Mail Centre with its 24 hour operation with the airport behind.
Under 5 minutes walk from the Airport, right next to Southampton Airport Parkway train station and by car 2 minutes from Junction 5 of the M27 its well located and was obviously built for the Airport.
It has four floors, reception and bar/dining room on the ground floor and rooms above. Rooms in Premier Inn are better than the budget hotels but essentially are identical whichever ones you stay in! The hotel has its own small car park which is card entry only.
The staff in reception always seem to be there when you arrive in the hotel, always a good start and have always been pleasant and polite when you need something. The staffing in the bar/restaurant is a bit more patchy, often when it is quiet the staff from reception also serves drinks and orders food, which invaribly ends up in a delay in getting anything done.
The food is a little pricey on the menu for the location, but the only other food local is the airport and train station which is also going to be expensive, and the drinks are pretty fairly priced, two drinks coming in at about £5.
Prices.
From £65 on Monday to Thursday
From £60 on Friday to Sunday
