RAMADA JARVIS CHESTER!

I've been going to Chester now for the past few years, usually I would go just beginning of December before I jet off to Spain for Christmas, so I can do a bit of Christmas shopping and enjoy the gorgeous traditional Christmas lighting in the city centre, but I decided after a very busy June I needed a break and so I checked in at the Ramada Jarvis Chester on the 16th July for two nights just to get away from everything even if it was only for two nights.

First impression of the hotel.

Well we arrived at the hotel when it was pouring it down with rain so I didn't get a good glance of the building in the car park, but when I stepped it was very nice, lovely modern furniture and the staff were very friendly and helpful too. After going through the details I went to my room.

ROOM DETAILS..

Now there are different types of rooms to choose from depending on how much you are willing to spend, I had a double executive room which is described by Ramada Jarvis as:

"Quality superior bedroom featuring one double bed with crisp cotton sheets, soft duvets and comfy new pillows. Each room has an ensuite bathroom and modern flat screen TVs with high speed internet access and movies on demand. Sleeps 2 adults."

This room was gorgeous, the walls were a creamy colour with a scarlet red carpet, it was very modern and the beds were so comfortable, I've travelled everywhere from most of the best cities in the UK and Europe and I've never slept in a hotel bed that comfy before so I was pretty impressed.

There's lots of sockets which to me is important because I took my laptop to do some work, despite it been a time to have a break from the stress at home I did manage to do a tad work just so I didn't become a complete slacker!

Now there are other Executive rooms available which include: The Twin executive room this is very much like the room I was in but a twin bedroom from what I can see from the Ramada Jarvis website and it has the same facilities just without the double bed!

There's also the executive suite which has like a sofa and better toiletries then the other rooms.

The other rooms available are like more standard rooms they look very basic and definitely not as modern but still they don't look too bad, I mean if your wanting to be in the city most of the time there's no point in really spending a lot of money on having a nice room if you're not going to be in it only when your eyes are shut!

Moving on from the rooms...before you fall asleep.. and not because I'm talking about beds either!

FOOD

The food was wonderful, definitely no complaints, as a picky eater I thoroughly enjoyed the food on my plate haha!
We already paid for the food when we booked the rooms and they said we had a £22 limit for tea and then anything more than that we'd have to pay extra. You can get a wonderful 3 course meal for I think about £20 which includes top of the range food, the three course meal options change every day but it's lovely, had a great starter main meal and terrific dessert (I have a bit of a sweet tooth)

The restaurant is nice, waiters were lovely last night we had to wait a bit for a meal because it was busy but that's only complaint I have. Breakfast also good, had everything you could wish for except Brad Pitt... they had muffins though, toast etc!

THE BAR.

Now the bar was very modern it's near reception lovely lighting there, but the prices are stupid, I guess I shouldn't expect them to be low seen as no bars are cheap in hotels.
A pint was like £3.50 or something, When at home I could get it a pound cheaper, I know you probably think I'm been a cheap skate but let's say I have four pints (the average a lightweight woman would be able to handle like myself haha) it would cost £14 I could have a few more drinks at home for that!

Health club.

The health club was lovely, great swimming pool, two gym areas one with weights, to be honest equipments pretty good for a hotel, I expected less equipment it has all the weight stuff for the legs, arms and so on (sorry I have no idea the names of the machines as I don't exactly have a body building physique but hey who cares guys don't like muscely women anyway right?!

The other gym room had treadmills, rowing machines, and step machines oh and I can't forget the wonderful water machine which serves ice cold water... yum! Great after a work out!
There's also two TVs in there... not lcd unfortunately but still at least I had something to watch even if it was a awful music channel with TAKE THAT hits on... good job I had my ipod touch to drownd their voices out! Swimming pool area: Lovely Jacuzzi, steam room and sauna, I've never been in a sauna so warm, here's a tip go in sauna before jumping in the pool then you can cool yourself off a bit even though the pool is pretty warm but at least people won't know you've been sweating buckets if you go in the pool after :D

Location

The Ramada Chester hotel is 2 miles from Chester railway station and the centre of Chester. I recommend you go to the park and ride it's so nearby the hotel it's only like a minute away and then get on a bus to Chester. Also there's a Sainsbury right next to the hotel well when I say right next to I mean about a minute or two away from there it's really big and I'm sure they even serve food (sorry if I'm wrong I was in a bit of a daze when I went but I think I saw a cafe area)

Conclusion

Great hotel, lovely staff, great food, great location because its near park and ride so can get to city straight away. If you need to ask me any questions please msg me I'm more than happy to help!
