      Lovely Location

My boyfriend and I stayed in the Ramada Hotel (Hyde Park) in June 2010 for two nights. We had lots of Tesco Clubcard vouchers to use and wanted to stay somewhere fairly central to enable us to visit London Zoo and The London Aquarium and this hotel seemed to fit to bill.

Booking this hotel was very easy. I called the number on their website to confirm that they accepted clubcard vouchers as payment. They informed me that they did and made my reservation for me there and then. I then needed to send my clubcard vouchers to the hotel to make the payment for the room. I sent the vouchers by recorded delivery to ensure they got there and paid the extra money (as we didn't pay completely with vouchers) over the phone on my debit card. Once the hotel received the clubcard vouchers, they confirmed with me by email.

The Ramada Hotel is located between Notting Hill and Kensington Gardens which is a very central location. There is literally a tube station two minutes walk up the road and another one a further two minutes up the road making this a very conveniently located hotel for sightseeing around London.

We paid £135 per night to stay here which I think is very expensive but when you consider that its right in the middle of London I suppose it isn't too bad. The only reason we booked this particular hotel is because they took clubcard vouchers as payment otherwise I would have opted for a cheaper hotel. We paid the majority of the money in vouchers and then paid the extra on my debit card. This rate included a double room for two nights and also included breakfast.

We arrived at the hotel around 1pm and were greeted by a very friendly member of staff on the main reception desk. We informed him that we had a reservation and he found our booking on the system and asked us to fill out a registration form which only took a minute or so. We were then asked if we wished to swipe a credit or debit card for any of the room services such as TV packages or room service but we didn't intend on using any of these services so declined this offer. He then gave us our room key and directed us to our room.

      The Room
The room was lovely, nothing amazing and maybe the décor could have done with a little updating but it wads clean and fresh and plenty big enough for the two of us. Inside, there was a double bed and a desk complete with TV and internet facilities. There was a double wardrobe plenty big enough for all our stuff.
The bathroom was bright and clean and of a good size with a full size bath and over the bath shower. There was a large mirror over a vanity unit which contained complimentary toiletries.

As I said earlier, the cost of our room included breakfast which was served between 6-10am. I was very impressed with the restaurant and the breakfast itself. The restaurant was located at the front of the hotel and you could chose to sit wither inside or outside. With the hotel being opposite Hyde Park you can sit and watch the world go by while eating your breakfast which we really enjoyed. The restaurant was large and very clean with plenty of staff on duty.
The breakfast was served in a buffet style where you could just help yourself. There was a full English breakfast on offer which included toast, black pudding, fried egg, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, tomato and baked beans. There was also a selection of cereals, along with fresh pastries and fresh fruit. The waiters served you tea and coffee and you could also help yourself to fresh juices.
We didn't order any food from the room service menu but we did take a quick look and there was quite a variety of food on offer, from snacks such as nachos to burgers, to Italian dishes and while they were overpriced, they weren't as bad as I would have imagined for an inner City hotel.

In summary I would highly recommend this hotel. I thought it was very conveniently located for our needs while we were staying in London and I loved the fact that they accepted clubcard vouchers as payment as this meant we virtually stayed here for free. I thought the hotel was very inviting, the rooms very comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. All in all a very positive experience and one I would happily repeat.

      Great centrally located hotel

My first break away with my girlfriend was when we decided to go to London for a mid week break together. We had loads of Tesco Clubcard vouchers saved up and decided to use these to pay for our break away. This is how we came to book our stay at the Ramada Hotel at Hyde Park.
Once I had received my hotel vouchers in exchange for the Tesco Clubcard vouchers, I sent the vouchers off to the hotel. Upon receipt of the vouchers, a member of staff phoned me to confirm our booking and also sent confirmation of our booking by email. I found booking very quick and easy, even with the added complication of wanting to pay with vouchers.

The Ramada Hotel costs £135 per night for a double room with breakfast included and to be honest, had we not been paying with vouchers, we would not have stayed here as I do feel this is a little on the expensive side. Having said that, the hotel is located in a very convenient little spot between Notting Hill and Kensington Gardens. The tube station was a few minutes' walk up the road which was pretty perfect for us as it enabled us to visit all the attractions that we had planned to.
Upon arrival in London we found the hotel very easily and were greeted by a friendly member of staff at reception. We handed over the relevant paperwork and he confirmed our booking with us. After filling out a registration form we were given our key and shown to our room.

Our room was clean and tidy but I couldn't help thinking that for £135 a night, it was a touch on the basic side. It was of a decent size but I certainly would not have called it large. The decor could have done with a little updating but again, it was decorated tastefully and was still very pleasant. It was furnished nicely with a double bed and a desk on which stood the TV and internet point. There was also a large double wardrobe which could easily fit all our bits in.
The bathroom was clean and spacious with a full size bath and over the bath shower. There was a vanity unit complete with complimentary toiletries and a mirror.

Breakfast was included in the price we paid for our room and this was served between 6-10am. We expected quite a basic breakfast and were pleasantly surprised when we found that it was a full English which was done in a buffet style so we could help ourselves to as much as we wanted. The restaurant was located at the front of the hotel on the ground floor and included an outdoor seating area too. I really liked where the restaurant was situated as you could sit and enjoy your breakfast while watching the busy streets of London outside. Breakfast items on offer included baked beans, tomatoes, sausage, fried eggs, bacon, black pudding, fried egg and toast. You could also have cereals, fruit and pastries. There were plenty of staff in the restaurant and one of the waiting staff served you tea and coffee.

Overall my impression of staying at the Ramada Hotel was a very pleasant one. I personally would not pay the prices they charge as I am tight and love to find a bargain but as we paid for vouchers, I couldn't really complain. If I had of paid with real money I can't help feeling that I would have been slightly disappointed with the room, just purely because I would have expected something quite grand for that sort of price. The hotel was in an exceptional location which made it so easy for us to visit all the attractions round London that we wished to. The room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was superb. A thoroughly pleasant experience indeed.
