I booked a room for Easter through laterooms and all prices etc were confirmed to me by email. The hotel was advertised for £40 per room per night. Laterooms confirmed the price with the hotel and myself and booked it for me.

An hour later, the owner of the hotel, whose name i will not mention called. He informed me that the room is actually £40 per person per nigth. I informed of the deal that had been offered.

He questioned me as to whether I knew the prices of accomodation in this country and also for £40 you could not even rent a garden shed.

He continued to be rude and patronising. When I explained that the offer of the room price was not my fault. He continued to be rude and arrogant.

Conatcted Laterooms who said that the hotel was not committing to the prices that they were offering and will be thrown off their wesbite.

Am disgusted by the rudeness and certainly would never stay there.

Hi Andy, Thank you for your reply. I had booked the room with laterooms who had called the hotel while I was on the phone with them to confirm availabilty and price. A few moments late, I got written email confirmation. Then the call from the owner. Right from the beginning of the call he was rude and informed me that the rate of the room on laterooms is per person (£40). I explained that I thoguht the rate on the website was per room and this is shown on their website. He told me that did I seriously think I could get a room for £40. I said yes. He told me that you can not even get a garden shed for that much. Then went and slammed the phone down on me!! I contacted Lateroom and they contacted him again and he told them that he would not honour the price that he had agreed with them (which I am glad now as I would not wish to stay there now). Lateroom have stopped him from using their websites. They (laterooms) were very helpful in trying to find alternate accomodation. I did late call the hotel later to ask the owner why he felt he should be rude to me when he obviuosly had a probelm with laterooms and not with me. He continued to be rude about teh rpice of the room. I mentioned I had seen the hotel on his website. Then he said he had the best website on the interenet and his hotel was the best for miles around. (Such arrogance.....t he website is not that great at all). I told him the issue now was not the niceties of his hotel or the website but his sheer rudeness at a customer who had become a piggy in the middle of his issue with laterooms. To which he started to go off on one...and I slammed the phone down on him! It made me feel just a tad better.:)

The review that I did was about the Ravensworth Hotel in Keswick. I looked at Dooyoo and had seen the good reviw on this hotel. The owner of the hotel was so rude that I can not even begin to tell you how rude he was. As a customer, I was stuck in the middle of the problems that the hotel had with Laterooms website. Laterooms were very sorry for the behaviour of the hotel owner. But the hotel owner was nasty and rude.
