Newest Review: ... TV's and refridgerators. We did not get to eat in the Dining Room for dinner as it was fully booked, however the food served all day in the bar area are lovely. I can recommend the haggis, neeps and tatties for a light lunch. Breakfast was buffet style with an option of cooked or continental or smoked haddock or kippers. Service at breakfast seemed a little disorganised, but we were quite late going down for breakfast. As the hotel is quite central, there are plenty of dining options nearby. Stayed at the Edinburgh Macdonald Hotel "The Roxburghe" for 2 nights in September 2009 in a standard double room. This hotel is one of the more pricey hotels in the area, but worth spending the extra in my opinion, especially if you break is a bit of a treat. The red carpet and on arrival porter service is just the start of the excellent service that you will receive during your stay. We arrived early and our bags were safely stored for us until our room was ready which allowed us to start exploring Edinburgh.
