This is the 3 star Royal Station Hotel which is conveniently located right beside Newcastle Upon Tyne's Central Train Station and Metro station. It is also right beside the Central Station bus stands where local services and also national bus services (Megabus, National Express etc )pick up and drop off passengers. There is also a large taxi rank right outside, making is very easy to get to, and also to get to other places from.
It has an impressive facade, looking like an old fashioned and glamorous hotel, once you enter, you are greeted by the sweeping staircases, large carpeted reception area and a massive twinkling chandelier which all work well together to create a posh looking yet comfortable ambience.
The rooms are spacious and clean with fresh ensuite bathrooms our complete with the normal soap, shampoo samples that you find in decent hotels. Even if your room faces out onto the front of the building, the noise isn't very audible. The staff are pleasant and helpful and there is lots of localised information in the foyer, advising where to go, what to see etc.
The dining room is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and as I was there with work, I ate there a few times and enjoyed dinner very much. Well cooked food, which was served in reasonable time and at reasonable prices.
The hotel also features conferencing and meeting facilities with 14 highly flexible conference and meeting rooms, ideal for any business or private event. When I was there, there was a conference going on and over dinner, some of the guests told me how great the facilities and staff had been.
The hotel has a leisure Club, indoor swimming pool, Jacuzzi, steam room and fully equipped fitness area, all of which I took advantage of while I was there and all of which were good.
It is worth noting that you can save up to 40% by making your booking online.

Compared to the soulless feelings of Travel Lodge's and the like, I know where I would rather stay!
Definitely recommend this place, it ticked all the boxes for me and I would stay there again anytime.
Summary: Definitely worth the money
